About Mid-South Equine
Mid-South Equine Sports Medicine & Surgery, located in Tioga TX, was founded by Dr. R.A. "Tony" Rocconi in 2015. Dr. Rocconi and his staff are dedicated to the well being and success of your horses.
Mid-South Equine Sports Medicine & Surgery offers a wide range of services to keep your horses healthy and happy. From our conveniently located Tioga TX clinic, we offer lameness examinations, diagnostic imagery, regenerative therapies, orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries, as well as reproductive services and overall general health.

Tony Rocconi
DVM, MS
Owner/Veterinarian
Dr. Rocconi is a 2003 graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary medicine where he served as class president. After graduation he went to work at a busy race track to practice servicing the racing thoroughbred industry. He then moved on to Ocala, FL where he worked for 4 years on young thoroughbred race horses in training, reproduction, and sales work. He subsequently moved to Aubrey, TX where he pursued his passion for lameness and surgery. Then Dr. Rocconi entered the Equine Surgical Residency at MSU-CVM - a 3 year program where he also obtained his Master's Degree in Veterinary Science. After completing his residency, he moved back to Texas and now owns and operates Mid-South Equine Sports Medicine and Surgery.

Having joined the practice in the spring of 2018, Dr. Pate distinguished himself by his commitment to exceptional care for his patients, his humor, kindness and patience to their owners. Having originated from West Point MS, he attended MSU-CVM and then moved to Texas for his internship at Outlaw Equine. Once he joined the Mid-South Equine team, his interest and aptitude for Sport Medicine kept growing and now occupies most of his time and his main area of focus. Dalton recently became engaged to Darby Slope and spends his down time roping and watching Darby compete in Barrel Racing.

Alli Salinger, DVM, MS, Diplomate American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Large Animal)
Equine Surgeon
Dr. Allison (Alli) Salinger grew up in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania where she competed in hunter/jumper events. She earned her degree in Biology and Played field hockey at Virginia Tech. Dr. Salinger pursued her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Western University in Pomona, CA and her one year internship at Pioneer Equine Hospital in Oakdale, CA. Her surgical training then continued at Mississippi State University CVM where she attained her Master's in Veterinary Science and completed a 3 year large animal surgical residency. She has published scientific journal articles about a noval implant for fixating carpal bone fractures in horses, the skeletal development of the foal distal limb, and muscle diseases in horses. Dr. Salinger became a Diplomate of the American College of VeterinarySurgeons (DACVS-LA) in 2024.
In 2022, she moved to Texas and joined Mid-South Equine. Her diverse background has played a role in developing her interests in orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, lameness/Sports medicine, and neonatal care. She has experience working with horses of all disciplies and enjoys contributing to the health and wellness of the western performance horses in the area.

Megan Robbins
Megan is originally from Mississippi attended Mississippi State University and Hinds Community College for Veterinary Technology. Graduated first in technology class. Worked for MSU-CVM for 11 years first in the equine department then in anesthesia specializing in large animal anesthesia. She has been with Mid-South Equine going on 2 years. With the support of her wonderful husband of 18 years, daughter, and 5 horses and 2 dogs.
